Field Identification of Sedges in July

We are hosting a 2 day workshop by botanist William Moorhead on Wednesday and Thursday, July 6 and 7, 2011 entitled "Field Identification of Sedges (Carex) of Northwestern Connecticut." This program will emphasize the ecology and value of these often hard to identify plants, which constitute the most diverse genus of vascular plants in Connecticut.
 
The location is White Memorial Conservation Center, 80 Whitehall Rd., Litchfield, Connecticut 06759. The time is 9:00am to 6:00pm on both days, with an optional lab session on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 10:00pm. Transportation to nearby field sites will be by instructor and participants.
 
The tuition is $225. This cost includes lunch and beverages on both days of the workshop, and use of dormitory facilities and kitchen on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
